How to speed up Hibernation??

I have a Sony Vaio F series. I hibernate, suspend to disk with pm-utils. When I do so htop says i'm using around 2GB of ram out of 4GB. And when I turn the computer on again it last like 5 minutes to restore everything. Is there a way to speed up hibernation? if so, how?
