I don't want to use xfmedia though, and the three other applications won't even start playing the music. I press play and it stays at time 0.00
Edit: Okay, any xine player works, just gstreamer ones don't.

Fixed it by searching google for half an hour.
For future reference, if you're on xfce go to "Settings > Session and Startup > Advanced" then check the GNOME option.
