Hi, I want to try kernel26-bfs 2.6.36-357.1 from the AUR, is it a matter of installing it with yaourt and choosing it from the boot menu when i reboot?

No, since no PKGBUILD should modify files outside of its control. You will need to create entries in your menu.lst (assuming grub).

OK, thanks!

When I compile a kernel I make sure the PKGBUILD is in my /home partition when I build it. If I use clyde (possible yaourt would be the same) it just fills up my /tmp partition and fails.

@sand_man, those apps probably have options where you want the builds to be done. I know bauerbill does (yaourt I can't recall, and hardly used clyde before).

That's true but still in the case of a kernel I prefer to use slurpy. If I decide to compile different kernels I only need to download the linux src tarball once so it's easier to do it manually. That's my opinion anyway.
