[SOLVED] - NumPad keys not working

I have Arch x86_64 installed on a Dell Inspiron 1520 Intel Core 2 Duo with an nVidia 8600 GT GPU. Kernel Version is 2.6.35
My laptop has a Fn key which is used to access the numpad keys and some special keys such as to see battery status and change video o/p.
When I press the NumPad 8 (by pressing Fn + corresponding key) the mouse moves upwards whether or not Num Lock is on or not. Now this is a problem as I need to use NumPad 8 and the other NumPad keys in a game.

Regards,
Apoorv

Re: [SOLVED] - NumPad keys not working

What desktop environment are you using? I think that in gnome there is a setting somewhere (probably under the mouse or keyboard settings) that you can turn on that moves the mouse with the numpad keys. I think it is enabled by default? I remember having this problem when I used gnome. Hope that helps.

You can toggle it "off" with Shift+Numlock.

System->Preferences->Keyboard->Mouse Keys is what you're looking for.
