Unable to connect iPod Touch

Anyone ever experience this one, and managed to get it fixed ? Added extra verbosity to the udev rules and they're outputting :

Nov 14 09:26:49 cybrain usbmuxd[23604]: [4] Initializing USB
Nov 14 09:26:49 cybrain usbmuxd[23604]: [4] Found new device with v/p 05ac:1291 at 1-6
Nov 14 09:26:49 cybrain usbmuxd[23604]: [2] Endpoint type mismatch for interface 1 of device 1-6
Nov 14 09:26:49 cybrain usbmuxd[23604]: [1] Could not determine wMaxPacketSize for device 1-6, setting to 64
Nov 14 09:26:49 cybrain usbmuxd[23604]: [3] Connecting to new device on location 0x10006 as ID 1
Nov 14 09:26:49 cybrain usbmuxd[23604]: [1] Failed to submit TX transfer 0x16a7f30 len 20 to device 1-6: -1
Nov 14 09:26:49 cybrain usbmuxd[23604]: [1] usb_send failed while sending packet (len 20) to device 1: -1
Nov 14 09:26:49 cybrain usbmuxd[23604]: [1] Error sending version request packet to device 1
Nov 14 09:26:49 cybrain usbmuxd[23604]: [4] 0 devices detected
Nov 14 09:26:49 cybrain usbmuxd[23604]: [3] Initialization complete

Found a gentoo forum post mentioning it might be a wrong version of libusb, but I noticed I had both installed. On the offchance usbmuxd might have been linked against the wrong on of the two, I recompiled that as well and reloaded the udev rules but that didnt help :\
