[SOLVED] OpenOffice scrollbars in GNOME/Openbox environment

Hey all big_smile

I recently replaced Metacity with Openbox in my GNOME desktop. To go with this change, I installed the elementary theme from AUR (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=37901) together with a matching Openbox theme. My whole DE experience now looks REALLY smooth; at least that's what I thought until I installed OpenOffice. I got the openoffice-base package from extra and when I started it, was presented with this: http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/8237/59889212.png See what has happened to the right and bottomn scrollbars? Anybody have a clue abouth what could cause this?

Thanks smile

EDIT: Btw, I tried adding

export OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=gnome

to autostart.sh, and this didn't fix it...

Re: [SOLVED] OpenOffice scrollbars in GNOME/Openbox environment

no problem here. one way is to change the icon theme  or try to install some gtk theme engines.

Thanks for the reply kgas.
So, you use GNOME/Openbox with a different gtk theme? I tried changing the Openbox theme, and that didn't help... I'll check it out smile

EDIT: After reading https://bugs.launchpad.net/egtk/+bug/675484 I see this is an issue with OO not adjusting well to the GTK theme. I guess I'll find another theme then tongue

Re: [SOLVED] OpenOffice scrollbars in GNOME/Openbox environment

I commented out the lines

#    GtkScrollbar        ::has-backward-stepper             = 0
#    GtkScrollbar        ::has-forward-stepper            = 0

in gtkrc.

Re: [SOLVED] OpenOffice scrollbars in GNOME/Openbox environment

anm1, that worked big_smile I wish the steppers only needed to appear in OpenOffice though, cause I think the theme generally looks nicer without them. I see in the gtkrc file that they make exeptions in other files, and import these settings right near the last lines of the gtkrc file. Etc. workarounds for Nautilus. Maybe it's possible to have the people developing this theme make such a workaround. Better report upstream wink

thanks!
