Hibernation issue with netbook

Hibernation works but on resumption 90% of the desktop is covered by a black rectangle. If a screen shot is taken it shows the full desktop(hence photo from mobile phone-not clear but enough to show the issue). I tried the git version from aur but the result is same. Suspend works without any problem. This issue is only in netbook and not in laptop. All the netbook are with intel chip set.Is any one have this issue? I could not find a solution to this yet.

Edit 1: The problem seems to be with tty as it is not up properly. Ctrl+Alt+F1 shows this black screen with blinking cursor and needs further digging.

Edit 2: This thread also points to a similar issue. All the modules in the daemons array were checked by removing them one by one but still no solution reached indicating no rc.multi issue. changing wait to once also makes no change.

Edit 3: This is the output of pm-suspend log

enabled, active

/usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/00powersave thaw hibernate: success.
Running hook /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/00logging thaw hibernate:

/usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/00logging thaw hibernate: success.
Fri Mar 4 12:47:00 AST 2011: Finished.
which seems to be normal but still the black layer sitting on the top.
