Trying to build QT from ABS is really painfull....

Hey Archers.

If anyone could give me a hand here, i would be really gratefull.

Im trying to build qt-3.3.4-5 from ABS, but it ends up with:

borland_bmake.o: file is not recogniced: File truncated
collect2: ld return 1 exit status
make: *** [qmake] Error 1
qmake failed to build. Aborting
./PKGBUILD: line 47: qmake: command not found
./PKGBUILD: line 48: qmake: command not found
make[1]: Entering directory '/home/disc-devil/qt/src/qt-x11-free-3.3.4'

Qt must first be configured using the "configure" script.

make[1]: *** [.qmake.cache] Error 1
make[1]: leaving directory '/home/disc-devil/qt/src/qt-x11-free-3.3.4'
make: *** [init] Error 2

Im really gratefull for any help i can get.. I should also mention, im bulding on a i586 box.

I have managed to do almost the entire base so far... anyway..

Thanks in advance!

This is a strange error. It needs qmake to compile but qmake is part of qt.

./PKGBUILD: line 47: qmake: command not found
./PKGBUILD: line 48: qmake: command not found

though I can't seem to find where qmake is... it should be a part of qt... *shrug*

Re: Trying to build QT from ABS is really painfull....

yeah...

my thought exactly.. however.. it is building the qmake first, but, it stops building qmake becoz of this truncated file.

borland_bmake.o

atleast that is how i understood it...

So.. would it be possible to "replace" the file, with one that is not truncated or?..

I have no clue, just trying to think loud... (it's called speculating) ?

*boink boink*

Re: Trying to build QT from ABS is really painfull....

why's it compiling a file for borland? it shouldn't be touching that... there's a configuration problem I think...

Re: Trying to build QT from ABS is really painfull....

I just remebered...

I know i tryed to build qt-3.3.4-3, but.. it failed coz i ran out of space...

but know i have updatet ABS, since i re-installed Arch...

the 3.3.4-4 dint work either....

So, if anyone happens to have PKGBUILD for qt-3.3.4-3, i could try that again...

Since i don't have that, i can compare them, and see what differences there are....

Re: Trying to build QT from ABS is really painfull....

Woopediaaaaaa !!

I successfully build qt-3.3.4-3.

I havent really studyed the PKGBUILD's so much, so im not sure of what is it that is messing up.

Altough, im _pretty_ sure, that it has to do with some ugly patch...

Now i am alive and kicking again, i will try to sort out what is wrong the the newer pkgbuilds... but atleast i get 1 version instead of noone.

Thanks.
