The move from 32 bit to 64 has exactly coincided with the onset of severe text editing problems. Whether working in a text terminal or X, whether entering a command as root or using Emacs or Nano as user, when I try to delete or backspace, I produce fractured words and characters and tear up text I don't want to change. Sometimes I get pieces of letters repeated in long strings. In Abiword, text does not wrap, but writes over the existing line without erasing it, making an illegible mess. Mousepad works normally, and I can kill and yank in Emacs.
