Pekwm tint2--SOLVED
Tint2 is working fine for me in Pekwm as long as it is on the bottom of the screen.
If I set it 'top center' it won't load.
Pretty trivial but I prefer it at the top.

Thanks, should have found that myself.
I set the panel_margin = 0 1 1 and it works
