Openbox - Feature Missing?

Hi,

On resizing or moving a window, is there a way to position the mouse cursor on the center of the window (when moving) and on the bottom right corner (when resizing) ?

That's what happens with kwin (a feature i'm missing).
I have KDE and Openbox and probably will switch to Openbox, I'm liking it so far. Fast, lightweight

But I miss that feature. I tried configuring keybinds with obkey, compiled from openbox. All shortcuts are working properly, except, for that .. annoyance.

Any suggestion?

I'm sorry, but I could not understand what you want. Can you explain it in other words?

How are you moving a window? And what happens? And what did you want to happen instead?

Re: Openbox - Feature Missing?

Hi,

If you use a keyboard shortcut to resize a window, the mouse cursor positions itself on the right bottom corner. That's the default behaviour on KWin.
And if you use a keyboard shortcut to move a window, the mouse cursor automatically centers  on the window, allowing you to move to any direction.

This doesn't happen in Openbox. Instead, the window is resized on the corner nearest to the mouse cursor. That is fine if you resize using Ctrl+Mouse; But if you use keyboard that doesn't work very well, and I would like to mimic the behaviour of KWin or Metacity.

Re: Openbox - Feature Missing?

I'd suggest you visit the openbox homepage (http://openbox.org/), get the openbox sourcecode and write a patch. After that, it would be really nice to see that patch hit the main branch of openbox.

Re: Openbox - Feature Missing?

Hi,

I don't code, so, that's not an option :-)
Is it confirmed, is this feature missing, or is it just a configuration issue?

If you can't find it there, it's not here: http://openbox.org/wiki/Help:Configuration
