Switching bootloader from Ubuntu

When I installed arch I chose no bootloader because I already had Ubuntu installed. Now I want to unintall ubuntu but the grub files are in the Ubuntu file system.  How could I "switch" the bootloader over to Arch?

Edit: The bootloader is Grub 1.5

I think, you'll have to re-install grub. Just, delete the ubuntu partition. Now, you'll be unable to boot into arch. So, put in a livecd or liveusb, and you'll have to chroot into arch and reinstall grub.
