Ethernet Controller Missing[Solved]

Hello all! I have a new problem I hope you can help me with.  I recently bought a Asus Eee PC 1215n.  I'm installing arch alongside Windows 7(Need a few windows apps like Itunes and the such, sorry all).  Install went great.  When I boot up and do a ifconfig -a the only two devices that show up are my loop-back and my wireless card.  When I do a lspci my ethernet controller shows up: 01:00.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications AR8152 v2.0 Fast Ethernet (rev c1).  I'm at a loss because unfortunately I cant just let this issue stay as I actually need my ethernet on this net-book while I'm at work. (They wont let me connect to the wireless, yet the LAN is fine?  Don't ask me about how they reasoned that one out lol).  Any and all help and or advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

Re: Ethernet Controller Missing[Solved]

Did you configure the network in rc.conf?

Re: Ethernet Controller Missing[Solved]

You have a driver issue. More details will get you a better answer e.g. lspci -k to find out which driver you should be using, dmesg to find out why that driver is not loading correctly.

@x33a: my rc.conf is the default that you get when using the unofficial beginners guide.  the only addition was wlan0 to devices and dhcp.

@tomk: apologies but how do i get them on here from my netbook?  im currently tethered through my droid phone on it.

Re: Ethernet Controller Missing[Solved]

You must install manually (pacman -U) kernel26 from testing repo.

Re: Ethernet Controller Missing[Solved]

turns out the stock kernel that come with the 2010.05 disk didnt have the driver or whatever.  a simple update fixed it.  sorry to bother you all.  thank you again.
