I want my desktop be a real cube, not like the ubuntu compiz cube which don't have top nor bottom. I want to move around my cube both up/down and left/right. The problem is I want this in openbox
any ideas how this can be done?
Ps: I don't really care about effects, I just want the cube

cairo-compmgr doesn't have 3d support yet, so your only choice is compiz (and yes, you can have a "real" cube with a top/bottom, you just have to use the mouse to control it, not the keyboard bindings)

Yeh compiz has had top/bottom of the cube for ages. I don't think you can put desktops onto the top and bottom though (not that I've used compiz in a long time).
See the first sentence here for whether it can be used in openbox: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Compiz

Well it's kinda hard to make a visual cube with desktop on top&bottom when monitors have 16:9 aspect ratio. It would require stretching which would make it look horrible.

I'm thinking about a using scripts for pseudo-cube, binding C-A-up and C-A-down to scripts which changes my desktop depending on where I'm. Does anybody knows how can change the desktop of openbox from cli? should use an external pager?
