pacman error

hi all
when ever i pacman anything, i get a repeating error

error: /var/lib/pacman/local/kdelibs-3.4.0-5/desc: no such file or directory

and it fills the screen untill i ctrl+c to get to stop.
any  help would be great

Try refreshing the package list.  The command is

pacman -Sy

.

i refreshed the package list and it said

error :var/lib/pacman/local/kdelibs-3.4.0-5/desc: no such file or directory
: :  synchronizing package databases...
: :  current is up to date
: : extra  is up to date

Try deleting the directory /var/lib/pacman/local/kdelibs-3.4.05, then try a pacman -Sy.

I had this problem, with the added bonus that pacman couldn't find some packages (nvidia) in the database.  I touched the missing files to create them and it seemed to solve everything.
