Lirc and Livedrive_midi

After some time i made an uodate of my XBMC box and LIRC stopped working, and i have never had a problem with it in the last 3 or so years.
Irw output nothing, and the same for irrecord, but if i stop lirc and do a:

cat /dev/snd/midiC0D0 

  when lircd is stopped i got some garbage output like

 [root@mimir ~]# cat /dev/snd/midiC0D0 
 !`
AD1N !`
AD1N !`
AD1N !`
AD1N !`
AD.Q !`
ADa !`
AD^!

different for every key pressed, so i guess the problem is not hw?
Anyone got some idea?

I dont really have much advice to offer..but im also experiencing issues with lirc using the updated lirc/kernel. I made a post over here https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=109037 and have not yet resolved my issue...seems the updates broke alot of stuff with lirc.
