Wicd not playing nice with Samsung n140

I have a Samsung N140 and I'm having a pain getting Wicd to work.

It will try to connect but then time out with a "Unable to obtain IP address" message. Then, after this problem, nothing will work on my wireless card (iwlist scan, etc) until I take it down and then bring it back up again. Connecting with command line works fine before wicd and after taking it down/up.

I want to use wicd because it provides a nice system tray icon for roaming and stuff.

I'm having the same problem with the same computer (using a US version of the N140 =>Realtek RTL8192E wireless card)
