Hello. After an update where libgl and ati driver in particular were updated I had some graphical artifacts on my gnome/compiz desktop. I downgraded libgl and the ati driver to 7.8.2 from 7.9-1 and the problem was solved. Now I'm not sure where to report this bug as the two packages were related.
Also I'm wondering since I am running a legacy ati card (mobile x300) if i should prevent these packages from updating.

Could you provide a tad bit more information on the problem you were having with the updated drivers?
Pictures are nice too, if possible.

Here is what my desktop looked like:

I tried to enable effects in KDE as well and the result was similar. After the downgrade everything is back to normal.

Okay, I'm thinking that either this is a libgl problem or either compiz or the ati driver (i am not using fglrx btw) needs to update the way that they use libgl. Either way I'm still not sure where to log this bug.
