Custom kernel and no webcam

Hi, I have recently compiled a custom kernel cause I wanted to improve it and add patches such as bfs and bfq.
After a while I realized that my webcam (which is built in my hp dv5-1110el) is not working anymore. I made a lsmod in the -ARCH kernel and saw that with my new kernel I was not loading uvcvideo, that should be the appropriate module. I recompiled the kernel but since I couldn't find the uvcvideo module config I compiled the v4l1 that seemed to be linked. No way, my webcam seems dead. What can I do? where can i find this damned module?

You can find UVC from Device drivers -> Multimedia support -> Video capture adapters -> V4L USB Devices.

Re: Custom kernel and no webcam

It's probably ok from the kernel point-of-view then.  Try looking into kopete's configuration.
