Hey everybody,
It's been a while since I updated my Arch install. Decided to do that today, but the update fails due to a problem with cdfs. This is the error message I get:
Starting full system upgrade...
resolving dependencies...
looking for inter-conflicts...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: cdfs: requires kernel26<2.6.36The kernel running now is 2.6.35-ARCH.
Still being a bit of a newb, the only way I can see around this is to remove cdfs, do the upgrade, and then (hopefully) reinstall it. But surely there is a better way? ![]()
Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Jeff

It looks like cdfs got missed with the kernel upgrading to 2.6.36 and needs to be rebuilt. Flagging the package as out of date might get the packagers attention, otherwise try emailing the maintainer. If you're anxious to upgrade you'll have to remove it, upgrade and build it yourself with abs

No big rush to update. I flagged the package as out of date, so we'll see what happens. Thanks!

that is a bug, it should reported
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

cdfs is in the community repo, which doesn't appear to be listed in the bugtracker options. Should I still report it? Thanks.

Seems like it was just updated

FYI there is a separate project in the bugtracker called 'Community Packages' - that is where such reports should be posted.
