if you're sure a package manager is not already
  running, you can remove /var/lib/pacman/db.lck

Proceed with installation? [Y/n]

last time i said YES, and it was all a complete mess, i had to use a ubuntu live cd to get all fixed because arch wouldn't boot, it had like a billion bad blocks or something.. anyway i got it fixed and now i try to do it again and it's the same..
what can i do? by the way, while pacman is showing the errors, my pc kinda freezes and i have to wait like 2-3 mins to get it all normal.
this is scaring me since i don't want to have to install arch all over again and lose all files. since it's like 50gb only in files.
imagine me trying to backup all that. sad sad sad sad
please help!?

So pacman has "lost" some of its database files.    "pacman -S cpufrequtils gnucharmap" should fix those errors.

But given the freezes while package try reading the database, I wounder if you have more severe hard-disk damage.    I'd be making sure I had a full back-up...

well, for now i've fixed everything it was really really hard, it took me like 1 day and a half to get it on working again, unfortunately i had to uninstall arch, i'm using slackware right now.

about how i fixed it from the live cd, i had to e2fsck the partition where arch was installed, although this didn't fix the problem completely, because the other partition where i had windows (i know.. it sucks) was giving me problems on boot due the bad blocks stuff. so at the end i had to erase EVERYTHING sad
right now the hard drive is fine (i think).
I'm just hoping that my hard drive is not dying soon.
