Can't boot because of script

Hello All,

I was trying to add a script to run on bootup and I placed it in the /etc/rc.local. I went down for a reboot and not my computer will now not boot up completely. I am running off a liveusb drive as of right now. The issue is I am too new to know how to get to the the /etc/rc.local to remove the change I have made.

When I navigate to the drive where arch is installed I only see my home direcory and not /etc/. I am hope someone can shine some light for me.

Also if it helps this is what I was trying to do and the steps I followed:

Re: Can't boot because of script

  • Boot into single user mode by appending '1' to the kernel line in Grub when you start the computer. It will ask you for the root password at some point and after it's entered correctly, it'll drop you into a root shell.

  • Proceed to edit /etc/rc.local.

  • Exit the root shell with ^D (Ctrl + D). It will continue booting and switch to level 5.
