Install Core on old 98 windows box

So i'm trying to install the Arch Core cd on my old 98' computer. I have about 1 1/2 years linux so far but i can not get the cd to install. I can get past the first 2 steps but when it comes to step 3: Prepare Hard Drives it will fail 50% of the time. and i am having major issues with my Linksys wireless usb during the config section so not only can i not get a full install but i cant get the install to finish. any one know workarounds?

Please provide more information... Post your system specifications.

If you cant format your harddrive it's because it is damaged and needs to be replaced or needs a low level format.

I sugest you to read the wiki about configuring your wireless connection

What do you mean by preparing the hard drive fails? Do you get error messages? If yes, please provide them.

You can also try to install it using a virtual machine (on a faster and modern pc), and then copy the image to the real hard drive, like is described here

Of course, it's not 100% safe it's going to work on the real hardware, but you can try and see.

I would also try on a different harddisk, one I can be sure it has no bad blocks.

"open source is about choice"
No.
Open source is about opening the source code complying with this conditions, period. The ability to choose among several packages is just a nice side effect.
