why this happened? menu shadow do not disappear automatically & others

right click , menu show,but when menu disappear,shadow still there:

I had / have this issue and others also, and I suspect it's the nvidia driver, so  I installed nvidia 260.19.26 from AUR and it's better now.
I think you use nvidia 260.19.21 too. Don't

I am having a similar issue when enabling compositing in metacity, w/ intel graphics.

I noticed some new problems. When I drag and drop files in Filezilla, the icon of the dropped file doesn't disappear it stays on the same place where I released it, over every other open window AND on every workspace!!! I use gnome, no compiz. Sometimes when I browse the menu of an application, the dropped down menu or its border/background without the text stay there also. If I activete the same menuitem it usually disappear.

Now I think it is metacity related. Any idea how to cure it?

oh, still happened after videocard driver update.

i think maybe this is metacity's bug. so i have to disable  compositing  feature.

some ideas?

Check out karabaja4's suggestion. I installed the package and it's much better now.
