Monitor tearing after graphics driver install

I just installed ati-driver-installer-10-11-x86.x86_64 and now there is tearing on my monitor,is there a conf file like xorg or something i can edit to fix this problem.THX

Am I right in assuming that your read the wiki about installing and configuring ATI catalyst driver?

There is a xorg.conf file and you may wish to read through the troubleshooting sections of the article.
