lots of problems after updates [SOLVEDish]

Ok so the repo I was using was out of data and when I switched repos there were tons of updates.

The first thing I noticed on the reboot was that acpi failed to get my battery info but I searched the forums and it looks like that's a kernel problem so I will just wait for one of those threads to be answered.

Second was when I started X, it went into dwm fine but I couldn't move my mouse or control my keyboard, I couldn't even ctr+alt+<number here> to a virtual console. I think this one was caused by a bad upgrade of x86-input-synaptics or one of the xorg packages updated.

Finaly after rebooting and testing other things I tried to open up elinks so I could get here and I found out my wi-fi card wasn't up. I tried manually putting it up and I also noticed my eth0 was also not being recognized. I think this one is also because of the kernel update but I saw no post in this section or the hardware section about .36 breaking both wi-fi and eth0.

I will grab my log files later, I'm currently in the process of finding a usb to transport them...

Provide some details about your hardware, when posting the log files. I am running .36 kernel and neither do I have a problem with this kernel nor with acpi.

Re: lots of problems after updates [SOLVEDish]

Im running an eeepc900 and everything worked perfectly before the update's.

Also i found another problem, im not able to mount any other media so i have no way to get my log files, im going to try a live cd (usb) once it finishes downloading to see if i can get the log files that way.

EDIT: Ok so i just found out that X isnt freezing, its just not letting my use my mouse or keyboard, in DWM i have the date in the top bar refresh after a minute and it keeps changing so my problem with X must either be kernel related or have something to do with the xf86-input-synaptics package

EDIT#2: Ok when running lspci i can see my wireless card like this. Also my USB controller's are there

01:00.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR5001 Wireless Network Adapter (rev 01)

EDIT#3: Ok so in the beginners guide for the "X files" the files point to "MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"" but in /dev/input all i have is the file called mice and no file called event

You'll need to give us more information, such as the list of packages that were updated (from /var/log/pacman.log) or we won't be able to help.
