Trying to connect to a wireless network and dhcpcd is giving me some permissions errors:
# dhcpcd wlan0
dhcpcd[11432]: version 5.2.8 starting
/usr/lib/dhcpcd/dhcpcd-hooks/20-resolv.conf: line 64: /etc/resolv.conf: Permission denied
chmod: changing permissions of `/etc/resolv.conf': Operation not permitted
/usr/lib/dhcpcd/dhcpcd-hooks/20-resolv.conf: line 64: /etc/resolv.conf: Permission denied
chmod: changing permissions of `/etc/resolv.conf': Operation not permitted
dhcpcd[11432]: wlan0: waiting for carrier
^Cdhcpcd[11432]: received SIGINT, stopping
dhcpcd[11432]: wlan0: removing interface
/usr/lib/dhcpcd/dhcpcd-hooks/20-resolv.conf: line 64: /etc/resolv.conf: Permission denied
chmod: changing permissions of `/etc/resolv.conf': Operation not permitted
Have I missed important update messages?

No problems here with the same version of dhcpcd, but I am on a wired connection.

Same, I'm on wired with a static IP. Which is why, now that I'm trying to get iPhone tethering to work again, I haven't come across this before.

What permissions do you have on /etc/resolv.conf?
Offline
$ ls -l /etc/resolv.conf
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 175 Oct 31 20:45 /etc/resolv.conf

And what is the output of 'ls -ld /etc' ?
Edit: in fact, this doesn't make any sense, forget this.
