Is the alsa-driver package built with isapnp support? I'm getting a strange error message that I don't quite understand:
kernel: CS4236+ WSS PnP configure failed for WSS (out of resources?)
kernel: isapnp detection failed and probing for CS4236+ is not supported
This happens when I'm loading the snd-cs4236 module, although the sound card still works fine.
Thanks

The sound card still works fine without the alsa module loaded? Could it be that you have the OSS module loaded and that's why the alsa module won't load? Or is it that the alsa module still loads and works, but just prints out that message?

The alsa module still loads and works even though it's printing the error. I'm just trying to figure out what the error means and how to get rid of it.

Can you post how you got yours to work or post snd-cs4236 configuration from modprobe.conf so i can see how you're getting yours to work.
I've days trying to get minds to work with no lock at all on some gateway e-3200.
I've tried suse 9.0, and peanut 9.6 with no luck at all.
Thanks.
