[solved] polkit? issue with networkmanager and thunar automount

hey guys,
i have a problem with - i think - polkit. my nm-applet wont work and neither will my thunar automoount with error messages similar to this:

thunar:
Rejected send message, 1 matched rules; type="method_call", sender=":1.17" (uid=1000 pid=12762 comm="exo-mount) interface="org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume" member="Mount" error name="(unset)" requested_reply=0 destination="org.freedesktop.Hal" (uid=82 pid=3617 comm="/usr/sbin/hald)).

or nm-applet:
** (nm-applet:12878): WARNING **: <WARN>  request_name(): Could not acquire the NetworkManagerUserSettings service.
  Error: (9) Connection ":1.18" is not allowed to own the service "org.freedesktop.NetworkManagerUserSettings" due to security policies in the configuration file

maybe its also noteworthy that using sudo makes both things work.
any idea how to fix this?

edit: marked as solved
