Making a dvd bootable dvd?

I tried making a bootable dvd with brasero and i cant, this is ticking me off... i wanted to try out arch linux but it isnt really my niche and now im stuck because unetbootin wont run because of an outdated library and i cant even burn a 3.4 gb file to my dvd... after creating image checksum completess it just says that and keeps going back and forth.... lame... can anyone help?  Teach me how to do it via cli or something i really need this... THANKS!
