Disadvantages of using the fallback initrd

I have a Xen VM with a root device that will not initialize on boot with the default generated kernel26.img. I can, however, boot fine when I use the default kernel26-fallback.img, which makes me believe that something wrong with the autodetect hook. So are there any disadvantages if I always boot from the the fallback initrd instead of figuring out why the autodetect hook is not getting the root device to initialize?

Re: Disadvantages of using the fallback initrd

No. Is the same as default, but with all modules, needed and not needed for early boot step wink
