I'm experiencing the problem described in the first post of this thread: http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=57379.
Anyone knows of a solution?

I call it "Flash crash". For me refreshing the page (reloading the media that the flashplayer was playing) fixes it. You may need to do this for every tab you have opened at that time - restarting the browser is preferable if you have many tabs so this happens automatically.
Try using WebM for YouTube
http://www.youtube.com/html5
For example those trailer http://www.youtube.com/results?search_q … q=f&webm=1 don't use flash.

No, I'm not speaking of a flash crash. I have to kill the browser and reopen it to fix it.
HTML5 is not really a solution to this problem, just an alternative.
It's a common problem from what I've seen while searching.
