I fear I may have screwed up royally while setting up Arch Linux inside a VirtualBox virtual machine running inside Windows, because I have found out that my USB flash drive doesn't work in this virtualization. I have the latest kernel, HAL, Gamin, and udev.
Upon checking the wiki, I tried 'ls /dev/disk/by-id', which returned this: http://paste.pocoo.org/show/309254/
I then tried running 'fdisk -l' as root, and got this: http://paste.pocoo.org/show/309256/
Running 'dmesg | grep -e "sd[a-z]"' gave me this: http://paste.pocoo.org/show/309257/
And finally, when I ran 'lsusb', I got this: http://paste.pocoo.org/show/309258/
Based on all this data, I am inferring that because of some careless error I must have made since first installing Arch Linux, Arch Linux simply will not recognize my USB flash drive at all. But if there is any help that anyone here can provide, I would certainly be happy to hear it.
Thank you.

Really depends on which version of virtualbox you are using.

Does any pendrive work in your VirtualBox?

You can use them, simply got to set them up under settings

Guys, guys, guys... While you were arguing about methods of how to make these work, I discovered an excellent workaround. By installing VirtualBox Guest Additions, I was able to set up and mount my pendrive as a shared folder. I tried creating a file in my Arch Linux guest machine, then editing the same file in my Windows host machine, and finally opening the same file in my Arch Linux guest machine -- and all operations worked.
Thanks for your time, guys.
