Returning user from Ubuntu - have anything changed? Can I use systemd?

I have stopped using using ArchLinux personaly about 2 years ago in favor of Ubuntu -- I was using only a notebook and that was the reason. But that's not a thread to discuss this.

Now I'm going to get my new workstation delivered tomorrow and I'm considering putting ArchLinux on it. Thus I got some questions.

Did anything worth mentioning changed during this two years that I was gone? :D

Will I be able to use systemd with decent stability right from the start? Is this a good idea?

Will font rendering be as good as in Ubuntu?

There's systemd in AUR, so you could fiddle with it.

You can install font packages with patches from Ubuntu. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fo … ion#Ubuntu

Take a look through the news items on the home page for announcements about changes.

There is a thread about systemd here (I haven't tried it so can't comment).

Likewise there is a long active thread about subpixel rendering in Desktop Environments section.
