I have followed the wiki for beginner, i have installed xorg, mesa, mesa-demos, opensource ati driver for my videocard hd3200 (xf86-video-ati), dbus and xf86-input-synaptics.
When guide say to remove ~/.xinitrc i haven't find it but i started anyway x server by startx command.
The X server have been loaded and appeared 2 windows command shell, but the output on tty (where i launched startx) show an error message:
[EE] Failed to load module "fbdev" (module does not exist, 0)
and this advice:
/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc: line 53: xclock: command not found
Can you tell me exactly what i miss, and how i can resolve this problem before starting to install a desktop manager?
Thanks

The 'fbdev' thing is harmless; install xf86-video-fbdev if you want.
Install xorg-xclock to get the clock. This is necessary due to http://mailman.archlinux.org/pipermail/ … 18235.html

"fbdev" or "vesa" would be loaded as a fallback in case the ati driver failed to load. You can install xf86-video-fbdev or xf86-video-vesa for this purpose, or not. It's not important.
As for the xclock thing... well, there's a default xinitrc that loads some stuff. But this too is something you can and should ignore. It's not a problem you need to fix before installing a desktop manager. The problem is you're missing a desktop manager! Well, either a desktop manager, or you do write an ~/.xinitrc which directly loads the DE/WM you want.
