I've got quite old laptop with radeon 9600, Arch linux 32bit, kernel-2.6.35, X.org-1.9.2 using Ati-radeon opensource driver.
On 'desktop' jobs everything works fine, but when I'm playing games, like Unreal Tournament 99 system freezes at random moment (even SysRq doesn't work - I have to press power button for few seconds) after few minutes of play.
The main problem is that I can't find anything in logs. I've checked Xorg.log, kernel.log, everything.log, but there's no entries about any issues, no warnings, even no infos from time when I played game.
I've checked syslog-ng config - it's logging even kernel debug messages, so how can I make kernel more verbose to obtain any info what is wrong?

You might want to check your laptop temperatures and maybe change the thermal paste...

Yeah, I thought about it, but on Windows games, even more demanding like Left4Dead works without any problems.
