Nautilus Crashes File Browsing 100% CPU [SOLVED]

Arch Linux 64-bit Gnome desktop

kernel 2.6.36.2-1
libgnome 2.32.0-3
nautilus 2.32.2.1-1
nautilus-actions 3.0.3-1

nautilus settings tree view, icons
gconfig setting /apps/nautilus/preferences/always_use_location_entry [checked]

To reproduce:

1) open nautilus computer location
2) browse to /user/share directory
3) click to expand and show directory contents.

Nautilus will lock up and utilize 100% of one CPU for about 5 min.

This behavior is the same logged in as user or using gksu nautilus command as user.

Logging in as root results in normal nautilus operation.

Since root user has a normal functioning nautilus, Im suspecting a setting or config issue.
I have tried to uninstall nautilus, remove all my user ( .nautilus) files, etc. then reinstall.

During my search for a solution to this, I find very similar nautilus issues going back several years, but with no similar or clear fix.

Re: Nautilus Crashes File Browsing 100% CPU [SOLVED]

Thanks wonder,

But I just manually downgraded this package yesterday to resolve a different nautilus issue......

My above issue has been present for weeks.

Edit:

Ok I did system upgrade.
The nautilus-actions issue is fixed in the new version, but my nautilus hanging for 5 min is still present.

Re: Nautilus Crashes File Browsing 100% CPU [SOLVED]

I setup new "test" user account belonging to same groups as my user account.

Nautilus works normal in this user account.

Logged back into my account and replaced the following directories with the
same from test users directories.

~/.gconf/apps/nautilus
~/.gconf/apps/nautilus-actions
~/.gnome2/nautilus-scripts
~/.nautilus
Deleted ~/.gnome2/nautilus-sendto

Restarted computer .......... still have nautilus issues in my user account.

Prior to filing this report, I removed nautilus, deleted all the ~ /*/nautilus*
directories and reinstalled nautilus.

Filed a bug report https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=638486

Re: Nautilus Crashes File Browsing 100% CPU [SOLVED]

Got tired of waiting for bug report reply........
Found a fix that worked for me.

To fix the Nautilus issues, I did the following:

1) Deleted: .gconf .gconfd .gnome2 .gnome2_private
2) reboot
3) reconfigured my gnome preferences.

Nice side benefit, it also fixed slow and lagging gtkpacman.
