USB install + Xfce4 --> Auto mounting disks on computer?

Hi there,

I installed Arch Linux + Xorg + Xfce4. Target is a usb disk, everything works just fine. But there's a slight problem. I boot up on my laptop, and there's the laptop's hdd, placed in /dev/sda. I wonder how auto-mounting of those disks is enabled, besides /etc/fstab editing and of course mounting from console manually.

In my previous installations, I started Xfce by running "xinit /usr/bin/startxfce", auto-mounting usb drives was a problem back then. I realized I'm missing the ck-exec-launch part, it's working now, but I wonder auto-mounting the disks in the pc I boot my usb installation from.

I think it is usually handled by udev (wiki article here), but xfce uses hal (wiki)...
