Firefox security update ?

It was some days ago when the Mozilla foundation announced a security update for firefox. Firefox 1.0.2 takes care of several serious security issues. When can we expect an AL package to update our vulnarable systems ?

Re: Firefox security update ?

Well, the maintainers often dont read the forums, the best thing you can do is go to www.archlinux.org and type in the package name there, then click "Flag Package out of date" so the maintainers know its out of date.

Fortunately this has already been done so there ought to be one soon.

Re: Firefox security update ?

Right now I use the binary from mozilla.org, I might try to make an arch package which uses their binary.

Re: Firefox security update ?

Well, if this is the normal speed when fixing security updates for firefox, I will revert to the mozilla binary version too. It has been more then a week and the maintainer of the package does not even bother to reply.
I don't know why I should flag things out of date anymore. I have the impression that it doesn't speed up anything.

Re: Firefox security update ?

Have you tried submitting a bug report?  Maybe the maintainer isn't aware that it's a security issue.

A maintainer should be aware that there are security issues with packages he/she maintains. Especially when it is news on all major newssites anyway.

agreed.. this should have been done already... it's got to be just a version number change on the PKGBUILD...
