mplayer+vaapi = correct pan&scan

/Catalyst 10.12, mplayer-vaapi from AUR/
mplayer -vo vaapi:gl [movie.file] - doesn't scale picture properly while trying pan&scan ('w' or 'e' keys) in fullscreen ('f' key). In fact it shifts video loosing movie-aspect.

When using open ati video driver, with:
mplayer -vo gl [movie.file]
pan&scan is functioning as proper in fullscreen mode. Picture keeps its aspect-ratio after 'w' or 'e' key.

By now the only way to get maximum of ATI's GPU hardware acceleration when watching video, especially HD video,  is to use Catalyst + vaapi:
"...main motivation for VA API is to enable hardware accelerated video decode at various entry-points (VLD, IDCT, Motion Compensation, deblocking) for the prevailing coding standards today (MPEG-2, MPEG-4 ASP/H.263, MPEG-4 AVC/H.264, and VC-1/WMV3).
In November 2009, VA-API gained a new proprietary xvba-video backend which allows VA-API powered applications to take advantage of AMD Radeon's UVD2 chipsets via the XvBA"

So, what's the best way to get correct pan-scanned fullscreen picture using proprietary Catalyst?
