I'm quite new to Arch and not very familiar with all the commands and such. I'm trying to install awesome WM right now and pacman won't find it. So I went to http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=13916 and tried to install it with makepkg but it says I need some dependencies such as cairo-xcb. So I tried downloading the PKGBUILD for that and installing it but it's not working. Does anybody know how exactly I can install awesome wm? I'm a noob to arch.

Hi,
awesome WM is not in the official repos anymore but the easiest way, I think, to install it is using the [archlinuxfr] repos (a repository well maintained by the french community).

But then wouldn't it be french?

What exactly do you mean by "it's not working"? Try to be more specific.
When you run makepkg for cairo-xcb read its output - if it says you're missing some dependencies, then install them with pacman. If they aren't in some repo, you can find them in AUR.
And after you've installed cairo-xcb, run makepkg for awesome. Read its output. If you're still missing some dependencies, install them with pacman. Run makepkg again and then you should've no problems.
Also, I assume you know how to install packages from AUR. If you do not, then read this: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AU … g_packages
