Re: Arch Linux Interview

Eugenia, you surprise me.  No flaming!!!

Very revealing article/interview that covers Arch Linux like a blanket!!

Congrats to the whole team that supports arch on their free time!

It surely is time well-spent!

It's kind of funny how she snuck in her db pacman agenda into the questions.

It's nice to see the team held up under such bullshit questions. smile

miqorz, you constantly lower the tone of these boards and speaking from an Arch newbie point of view, give off an immature impression of the boards as a whole.

You would do well to keep your mouth shut when you have nothing intelligent to add to the conversation.

Flame away.

If it's the same miqorz as the one on Gentoo Forums i'm not surprised since people there still wonders if he ever got banned or not.

I think miqorz its time for you to consider if you want to stay onboard. I appreciate your active posts, but try to maintain an appropriate style of communication.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love some actual Arch news that didn't involve a personal agenda in the questioning.

Then again, thats not something OSNews is known for so I shouldn't have expected any different. I apologize for expecting more.  :?

Re: Arch Linux Interview

I believe the comments were on the overall tone of all your posts, migorz, and not the one specific topic here.

Apologies, Eugenia; thanks for your public interest in Arch. smile

I'll agree - migorz... I know I said a few times that I didn't like you... but when you have useful stuff to contribute, I like you (hell, I even defended you in the gentoo thread...).  I think you know your crap....
But the fact remains that this excess negativity is a drain... I come to these forums to read stuff, provide help, and laugh from time to time (*points at skoal*).... So don't get disgruntled and leave, just please try to "have a good time" as it were.

And Eugenia, thanks - I don't know if I agree with all this attention arch is getting - we're going to get a lot more posts of people saying "arch sucks, where is debconf?" and "wtf? I have to type??? can't i click some check boxes???"  roll

Re: Arch Linux Interview

phrakture, I agree with you entirely.

As soon as I looked over it I just thought to myself.

"Oh christ, Now we'll get about 40+ comments about people who don't "get it.""

And it kind of seems Eugenia is one of those who DON'T get it.

I'm not trying to give Arch a bad name with this but come on, We all know what OSNews IS and ISN'T.

Xerxes, I suggest you be careful how you talk to me. I am not "trolling" about Checkinstall. I am simply keeping firm on my opinion on Checkinstall being much simpler to deal with.

ok, this just pissed me off - another power-tripped, egomaniacal, glorified moderator who thinks everyone should bow down because she's the supreme authority on X (which, for the moment is archlinux).

Re: Arch Linux Interview

it was that "i suggest you watch your tone, boy!" -type comment that set me off.... I can't stand it... especially from someone who calls themselves a "professional" - one could have said "I did not mean to come off as 'trolling' - I was simply stating my opinion that I find Checkinstall to be easier to deal with' - same point, without the childish attitude

Re: Arch Linux Interview

That's one of the many reasons I hate OSNews.

I consider it a propaganda pit. And it's a shame Arch is being pushed in that manner. :
