What I suspect is kernel panic, at boot time -- with weird exception

Hi everyone, something weird has started happening recently. When I start up my computer, the first time, it will give me these awful errors:

(excuse the quality, my crappy camera phone is all I have right now.)

It will be after I have selected (or had selected by default, after waiting 5 seconds) Arch Linux at the GRUB menu. However, I think it's before it gets to the place that loads Modules, loads udev stuff, and all that jazz. When I get there, I can't get to a Virtual Console, and the num and scroll lock lights on my keyboard just flash on and off at about 1 or 2 Hz. To do anything, I have to kill the power.

But then, after that, I plug it back in and start it up...and it works fine! I'm on this machine, right now.

What could be causing this awfulness? I -Syu frequently, and as far as I know, I haven't done anything too awful. Here is a bit of info, though I'll post more if anyone has any ideas:

I'm safe for the moment because it's working, and because most of my important stuff is backed up daily, but I don't want to see the day when I lose 5 hours of research because of my machine. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Search for udev error - there are a few people experiencing it at the moment: and a long thread about it.

And please edit your post title to something less histrionic...

Okay, I'll check it out. And how do I post thumbnails that lead to full sized pictures?

You can post thumbnails like so:

Ok, I'll do that in the future. Could you link me to the udev thread?

No.

If you enter udev in the search box, it is the first return. Did you even try and look for yourself?

Declan: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=111197

Also, jasonwryan, saying "it is the first return" in a dynamically generated search is not very helpful.

Helpful is telling him what his issue is and that there is an 8 page thread about it.

Not helpful is responding to a request to post a link that would have taken 1.5 seconds to find himself.

We try to encourage an attitude of self-help here...

It's not the first. If I search simply "udev", it's about the 19th. I'll search in the future.

Thanks, joeDeuce.
