While KDM seems to have picked up on new Xsession/desktop files for launching KDE, GDM now just gives me "GNOME" and "Awesome" as choices for user session. I would like to fix this pretty quickly if possible. Thanks in advance.
I haven't seen this one yet, so hopefully it's not lost in the crowd, sorry if it's a dupe.

Not sure what you do with gdm, but you could try kdm - the new session is now called kde-plasmasession or something similar (I can't remember...).

Thanks. KDM did work, but I wanted to use GDM.
I figured out a workaround. KDE's new session files are in /usr/share/apps/kdm/sessions. So,
# cp /usr/share/apps/kdm/sessions/kde* /usr/share/xsessions
or ln or mv whatever your prefer. This gives me the new session options in GDM.

Glad you got it working, fancy marking this as solved?
