After a recent update I'm unable to get to X. I use quickinit to boot and CDM to pick DWM after login but I get thrown back to the login prompt immediately. I can only login as root to the console. Any other info I can give?

Stop X then try startx in console [as user if possible] see if you get any output
Check pacman.log for recent updates that may have affected system

I can't stop X as it never starts and i also can't login to the console from CDM. I'll try to run X as root to see if that works.

No matter what I put in my .xinitrc I just can't get to X. I also can't see any packages that were upgraded that would have an effect to this. I did some heavy cleaning up via pacman -Qdt recently, maybe I removed an important package there?
I can get to X as root.

I had to update CDM and remove ck-launch-session from .xinitrc to get this fixed.

I don't have ck-launch-session in my xinitrc -_- sorry for hijacking since I was a few minutes late
