Bad sound in StepMania once again

I found plenty of threads dealing with this problem but nothing works anymore. Quite common practice was to use OSS but it gaves me error to use ALSA directly. Every other program works just fine except for StepMania which still wants to use the terrible software mixer:

ALSA: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.23.
ALSA Driver: 0: Intel 82801DB-ICH4 [I82801DBICH4], device 0: Intel ICH [Intel 82801DB-ICH4], 1/1 subdevices avail
ALSA Driver: 0: Intel 82801DB-ICH4 [I82801DBICH4], device 4: Intel ICH - IEC958 [Intel 82801DB-ICH4 - IEC958], 1/1 subdevices avail
ALSA Driver: 1: Intel 82801DB-ICH4 Modem [Modem], device 0: Intel ICH - Modem [Intel 82801DB-ICH4 Modem - Modem], 1/1 subdevices avail
Couldn't load driver ALSA: Not enough substreams for hardware mixing, using software mixing
ALSA: Software mixing at 44100hz
Sound driver: ALSA-sw

I've spent hours with this damn thing…but did not succeed in getting it work with sound which won't tear my ears. Both binary 3.9 and 4 beta from AUR do the same.

Re: Bad sound in StepMania once again

Disabling LVDS display in NTB while having connected projector makes the sound work properly. Strange is when I have connected D-Sub display from docking station it runs fine even if I have the LVDS display enabled.

Hovewer another problem appeared, this time with dancing pad. I am able to map all keys. In game it even shows I stepped on a key (you know when the arrow gets slightly bigger), it just does not count me anything. I can step on the keys as I want but it still writes me I missed. When using keyboard it is just fine. The dancing pads are custom build as I see it but they're working fine under Win XP. Is there some setting I missed?
