I get a video player VLC from Archlinux Packages.
When I click the VLC's ico, VLC does not working, and nothing happen.
And I open the processes panel, can't find VCL progress, too.

@sheng if when installing vlc you didn't had a pacman -Syu vlc and only pacman -Sy vlc then is your problem

[root@myhost ~]# vlc
VLC is not supposed to be run as root. Sorry.
If you need to use real-time priorities and/or privileged TCP ports
you can use vlc-wrapper (make sure it is Set-UID root and
cannot be run by non-trusted users first).

Don't run as root, please. Even running as a normal user with a blank password is better than running as root.
