Making kdesu require user password instead of root

As per the subject I want to lock out my root account and use my user password when launching graphical applications that require elevated permissions. I found a way to use sudo instead of su, but for some reason applications started this way are not themed.

cd ~/.kde4/share/config
edit kdesurc
Add this lines:
[super-user-command]
super-user-command=sudo

Is there a better way to accomplish this or how can I fix the strange theme issue that results from using sudo over su?

kdesudo is in AUR.  It works like that out of the box.
