Hey, I'm looking for an application that I can put on the top left corner of my screen next to tint2, that's just a small themable icon, so when I click it, a menu or run dialog pops up below it and lets me launch a program.
either that or maybe a button that when I click it, it spreads applications all over the screen kinda like Unity? I just have no way of launching an application, except a dock, which I really don't want.
Any suggestons?

when using openbox u could assign a hotkey each for menu and dmenu.

I'm using compiz, but the keybinding could work, but I was looking for a single button on the screen to launch an application or menu. I was using gmrun with ctrl+space for a bit, but then got frustrated because it's just annoying.
