xfce4 freeze using a starter that runs (sudo)

hi

when i create a starter in a panel that runs a shellscript (normal user), like
/usr/bin/shellscript.sh

whereby the shellscript starts (without opening a windowed shell)
sudo 'cmd'

the xfce4 desktop system freezes. i have not tested if that is reproduceable with
other (interactive) commands.

sample script:

#!/bin/sh
# try command witch needs root priv.
sudo pacman -Su

try to create a starter for that script and launch this (without a terminal setting).

is this a bug or the normal system behaviour ?

is it possible to get back the xfce4 desktop after such crash without killing all
running tasks ?

thank you
